Not only because it started manufacturing products powered by its proprietary software that had not existed in our part of the world, but has since its inception, launched 16 products and 4 software versions.
IVM tackles innovation and market inventions on multiple levels: we do not merely contribute to process improvement at our partners’, but as long-term partnerships indicate, revolutionary certain activities, the last meter logistics as part of the supply chain management.
The technological and product inventions allow many of our partners to do something they had never done before. And we let them do it with a significant economic and meaningful environmental impact.
Innovation is in many cases a co-creation process, taking the form of sustaining innovation, as it is in response to customer needs.
We do not only cooperate with lead customers to voice their or the market’s needs but invite almost all of them to approach us with development requests. In other cases, like in the case of SaveReturn, we carried out a disruptive innovation, by launching a novel product to selectively recollect contaminated waste, thereby giving birth to the Environmental Line, supporting the initiatives of environmentally conscious current and prospective clients.
The 10th anniversary of IVM brought a significant change not only in the strategy of IVM but as part of it in its innovation strategy. Continuous innovation, the learning by doing the type of innovation is being replaced by strategic innovation, manifested in the massive investment to revamp, refactor the SaveLog Software to be able to become even more innovative, agile and, disruptive. On the technical side, certain parts of the IVM machines are 3D printed already as of early 2020.
